A private journal for iPhone, in development

Before the day goes,
keep a line of it.

These Days is a small journal. Quick notes, longer entries, and a way back to the days you wrote. Everything stays on your phone.

Today, Sunday 4 October. Three sample entries about coffee by the window, a walk with Maya and a slow morning at home.

Three places in the app.

Write

One line, before the day goes.

Today opens ready to write. A line gets its own time. If there is more to say, a longer entry is one tap away.

Coffee by the open window. The street was still quiet.

Today, Sunday 4 October, with three sample entries and a field for writing another line.

Revisit

The days stay where you left them.

Every entry sits under its day. Tags and people stay in the text, so a name or a word takes you back to the moment.

Walked to the bakery with @Maya Chen. Took the long way back through the park.

Journal, with 20 sample entries grouped by day, favourite stars, inline tags and a mention of Maya Chen.

Reflect

When the words are slow, start with a question.

Reflect offers a question to write from, shows this day in an earlier year, and keeps yesterday close.

What will you remember about this week?
A question to write from

What These Days
won't do.

  • No account.Open the app and write.
  • No ads.Nothing in the app is for sale.
  • No analytics. The app does not measure you.
  • No server.Entries never leave your iPhone unless you export them.
  • No sync, yet.One iPhone for now. Backups go where you choose.

What it does do is keep every entry, its earlier versions and its drafts on your iPhone. Export a readable Markdown copy, or save a full JSON backup, whenever you like.

A few things you might wonder.

Can I download These Days?

Not yet. These Days is still in development and has no public download or waitlist. It is being built for iPhone with iOS 26 or later.

Do I need an account or an internet connection?

Neither. Writing, searching and looking back all work on your iPhone, offline. There is no account to create and no developer server holding your entries.

Does my journal sync between devices?

Not currently. Your journal lives on one iPhone. You can save a full backup to a location you choose and restore it later. iCloud sync is not part of the current app.

Can I take my writing with me?

Yes. Export your entries as Markdown to read them anywhere, or make a JSON backup that includes entries, earlier versions and drafts. You choose where the file goes.

A small lit place
to write.

These Days is an independent iPhone app by Yash Kadam. It's still being built. This is a first look.
